Building on the successful Energy Justice Leadership Institute based on Verde and the Coalition of Communities of Color, this innovative program will empower community members across Oregon to become leaders and fierce advocates for policy change in their communities. Through extensive community outreach and engagement conducted in 2020, the Collaborative discovered a thirst for knowledge and action around water and water justice issues. The Institute will bridge that information gap by providing participants with the tools and resources to identify potential projects to enhance water justice in their communities and develop the capacity to advocate for those ideas with state and local decision-makers.
The program will run from March to the end of July 2023. Applications close on February 17, 2023.

Sobre la base del exitoso Instituto de Liderazgo de Justicia Energética basado en Verde y la Coalición de Comunidades de Color, este programa innovador empoderará a los miembros de la comunidad en todo Oregón para que se conviertan en líderes y defensores feroces del cambio de políticas en sus comunidades. 2022 Regional Water Community Convenings - Closed

Oregon Water Futures Collaborative and Oregon Voice invite people from Native, Latinx, Black, and various migrant communities and communities of color, including low-income and rural communities, and the community groups that represent them, to share about water issues and solutions they envision to help inform a Water Justice Policy Framework and make progress towards water justice in Oregon.
A modest $50 stipend will be sent to each participant to show our gratitude for making time to join the conversations. Each convening will be on Zoom and a link will be sent to confirmed participants prior to the convening.
We have five regional convenings. If you work in multiple regions or across the state, we encourage you to attend a convening outside of the Willamette Valley.
